St James’ Church, Benwell Lane 

  • Meet the ancestors!  Come and meet some of the famous and not so famous people who used to live around here.  Explore the graveyard and find out about some of those buried there
  • Drama in the graveyard!  Watch our new film “Stories from the Past” showing local children in the graveyard performing their own plays about the history of Benwell
  • Brighten up our heritage!  Help us plant more flowers around the graveyard
  • Refreshments and information

All welcome. This event is free to members of St James’ Heritage & Environment Group.  Membership costs £2 for a year or £10 for life membership.  This entitles you to vote at the meeting and to attend events free of charge.  Join or renew your membership on the door
